- Allegedly she has one child and another one on the way.
- Allegedly she and I share the same Alma Mater.
- Allegedly she does recruitment for GoBeyond IT
- and she's a stay at home mom.
I say "allegedly" because I've never met Christy yet we work for the same company. I was beginning to think Christy was a figment of everyone's imagination. "Ah, yes, Christy" I would smile and nod, come back to my desk and count my co-worker's names on my fingers.
I've never met Christy because she actually is a stay at home mom and a full time employee.
Come to find out: we have the option of working from home when we need to. Come to find out: It's not just Christy either. A few of my co-workers have a set day(s) where they work from home. Not a bad gig, eh?
With gas prices sky rocketing into nauseating numbers who wouldn't want the option of not driving to work, even once a week? Now, I'm only human and the first thought of working from home does make me think of Butterscotch Krimpets and watching General Hospital. But, I'm also a human who happens to like my job. I'm not saying GoBeyond IT is the most trusting company on earth. We, actually, have a way of monitoring the work that's being done by our employees while they are at home. In turn, the employees have the option of working from virtually anywhere. (pun intended)
In 2003 AT&T profited over 150 million dollars by instilling it's work at home or "teleworking" program. Studies actually show the numerous benefits of letting employees work from home: Less turnover, happier employees, increased productivity, reduced overhead costs. Not to mention your employees would have to support their local gas station one less time that week. And that is a big recruiting opportunity. Just ask Christy.
We have the option because we have the technology. And with an option that makes gas companies hate YOU for a change; I'd say it's a technology worth looking into.

Yep, I too have the ability to work from home, and it is 100% painless. VERY convenient when you have a little one who gets sick, etc. Thanks to the technological advantges offered by Go Beyond IT, it is extremely easy and convenient to work from home. My interface is exactly the same as if I were in the office - I have all the same options and abilities.
